  2.                           THE YELLOW DUSTER

  4.          This  story  is  partially  based on a true account between a
  5.          white man--with a yellow  duster--who  later  gave  it  to an
  6.          Indian to "settle war accounts"--and the  problems that arose
  7.          from the gift.
  8.  
  9.          The author presently lives in the areas where the story takes
  10.          place.   He changed SOME of the names of places to avoid
  11.          offending present citizens of those towns and cities.
  12.  
  13.          Many  of  the characters are based  on  real  people he
  14.          presently  knows or has known.
  15.  
  16.          Also,  although  most  Apache's  had singular names, based on
  17.          some animal, or "thing"--the author took  the  liberty to
  18.          give one of the Apache's the name of "Golden Sky"--based  on
  19.          his father's name--Golden--who  was one-half Cherokee.  He
  20.          hopes the "living Apache's"  don't  mind his "literary
  21.          license," OR  the Cherokee's who may not appreciate "an
  22.          Apache association."

  25.          LANGUAGE, VIOLENCE, DEGRADATION, AND MULTIPLE KILLINGS.
